What is Friends and Family?
Friends and Family is a feature that lets you connect with people you know to share step counts and participate in a weekly leaderboard. It’s a simple way to stay motivated, encourage each other, and celebrate healthy habits together.
Where can I find Friends and Family in the app?
You can find Friends and Family on your Account page in the Evidation app. This feature is available on version 6.33.0 of the mobile app and above.
How does the leaderboard work?
The weekly leaderboard ranks participants based on the number of steps they’ve recorded during the current week. Rankings update automatically throughout the day as new step data syncs to the app.
What data is shared with others?
When you join Friends and Family, other participants in your group can see:
- Your first name and last initial on your Evidation account
- Your weekly step count
- Your position on the leaderboard
No additional health information, survey responses, rewards activity, or personal account details are shared through this feature.
Who can I invite?
You can invite friends or family members by entering their email address in the Friends and Family section of the app.
Does the person I invite need an Evidation account?
Yes. The person you invite must have an Evidation account to participate in Friends and Family.
How do I send an invitation?
To invite someone:
- Open the Evidation app
- Go to Account
- Select Friends and Family
- Open the Manage tab or select Send an invitation from the Leaderboard screen
- Enter the person’s email address
- Select Send Invite
What happens after I send an invite?
The person you invited will receive an email invitation to join your Friends and Family group. Once they accept the invitation they’ll appear on the leaderboard. Step activity will only appear if those invited have a connected app that tracks their steps.
Can I remove someone from my Friends and Family group?
Yes. You can remove someone at any time from the Manage tab by selecting Revoke sharing.
What happens if I revoke sharing?
When you revoke sharing, that person will no longer be able to view your step information or participate in your shared leaderboard.
Why don’t I see steps for someone on the leaderboard?
There are a few reasons why steps may not appear:
- Their device has not synced recently
- They have not connected a compatible activity tracker
- They have not recorded steps yet during the current week
- They have not accepted the invitation
Which devices work with Friends and Family?
Friends and Family uses the same connected activity and step tracking sources supported by Evidation, including compatible smartphones, smartwatches, and fitness trackers.
How often does the leaderboard update?
The leaderboard updates automatically throughout the day as step data syncs to Evidation.
Is Friends and Family free to use?
Yes. Friends and Family is included as part of the Evidation app experience.
Is my information secure?
Protecting your privacy is important to us. Friends and Family only shares limited information needed to support the leaderboard experience. Evidation does not share additional health data with your connections through this feature.
